作業須知
Homework Policy

1. 每次上課中皆會指派作業並且會說明何時應繳交。預定的繳交日將會以附頁加以告知。一般來說，當週及上週四所指派的作業必須在下週二的上課前繳交(假如周二為假日則改為周三繳交) 。
   Homework problems will be assigned during each lecture. The scheduled due dates are given on the attached page. Generally, homework assigned on Tuesday of any given week and Thursday of the previousweek will be due before lecture the following Tuesday (or Wednesday if Tuesday is a holiday).
2. 每隔一到二週助教會有一題具挑戰性的題目。此題為自由發揮不列入計分。在此鼓勵每位學生加入這個解題競賽，到了期末將會有獎金鼓勵。分別為：第一名一位$100，第二名兩位各$50，第三名五位各$10。
   One TA Challenge problem will be assigned every 1 to 2 weeks. Completion of these problems is optional and not required. Every student is encouraged to join the competition for a prize at the end of the term by submitting their solutions. Three types of prizes will be given: 1 first prize worth $100, 2 second prizes worth $50 each; and 5 third prizes worth $10 each.
3. 評分完成的作業將會在隔週的實習課發還。
   Graded homework will be returned during the recitation a week after the due date.
4. 遲交將不予計分。
   No late homework will be graded.
5. 對於分數有疑問的話需將作業先給評分者看，若不能的到任何的認同的話再將作業拿給助教審查。
   Any questions concerning the grading of the homework should be brought first to the grader and then to the TA if no agreement can be made.
6. 除非獲得教授或是助教的同意，否則學生在作業上需獨立完成且不得獲得任何特別的協助以避免不公平的情形發生。
   Students are to work independently and without special aids that may be considered as an unfair advantage over others unless explicit prior permission is obtained from the instructor or TA.

實驗報告須知
Lab Report Policy

即使實驗依修課人數而定，分為二至三人一組，但實驗報告仍需每人繳交一份且為獨立完成。實驗佔學期總成績的10%，故請不要忽略。評分標準包含以下三點：

Lab reports are to be done on an individual basis, though labworkwill be done in groups of two or three depending on class size. Labs take up 10% of your final grade, and therefore should not be overlooked. There are three components to your overall lab grade:

• 預習實驗報告：預習實驗報告十分重要且不單僅僅是實驗前實驗資料的閱讀而已, 它可以提供在實驗前一個完整的思考。預習實驗報告無統一格式且須包含寫作者所認為必要的部分，像是實驗方法的大綱。假如有需要的話，應以表格方式呈現，這樣做不僅會獲得較高的成績，同時使實驗更有效率。
  Prelab report. Prelab reports are important not to just make you read the lab sheet before you walk into lab. They are an integral part of any lab to encourage thinking through the lab before actually doing the lab. Prelab reports are informal and should include any information you feel is necessary, a basic outline of your approach to the lab, and, if necessary, tables to record the information. This will not only increase your grade but increase your efficiency in the lab.
  
• 觀察紀錄：實驗其中的一部份為觀察其他組的實驗結果，並客觀的評論從中學到些什麼。藉此，毋需親自進行實驗即可得知實驗的可行性。
  Observations. As part of the lab you will be required to observe another group’s work and comment, objectively, on lesson’s you learned from watching them. By watching others, you will be able to seewhatwill andwon’tworkwithout the added pressure of actually performing the lab.
  
• 實驗報告：此為整個實作中的最終報告。其中包含預習實驗報告、觀察紀錄以及本次實驗的過程和結果的正式報告。
  Lab Report. This is the final document on your entire lab experience. Itwill include your prelab report, observations, and FORMAL report of what happened in your lab and it's results.
