綜述

本課程闡述核輻射的基礎知識—荷電粒子、中子及加馬射線和其與物質的交互作用。採用基本的量子力學和以守恆定律為基礎的運動學,強調穩定度和碰撞現象的基本觀念。另一為截面的重要性和其與核子工程有關的應用。

本課程的教學以講義和課堂上分發的補充資料或指定的作業為基礎。寫好的講義和課程有關的資訊均公布於網站上。

評分

每周都有習題,學期中有三次測驗。評分的百分比如下表所示:

Overview

This course describes foundational study of nuclear radiations - charged particles, neutrons, and gamma rays - and their interactions with matter. Emphasis is on basic concepts of stability and collision phenomena using elementary quantum mechanics along with kinematics relations based on conservation laws. Another focus is on the importance of cross sections and their use in applications of interest to the Department.

Subject will be taught on the basis of class lectures with supplemental materials distributed or assigned in class. Written lecture notes and all information pertaining to class will be posted on the server.

Grading

There will be weekly problem sets and three quizzes during the term. For grading the weight distribution is as shown in the table below:
