課程重點
課程由工業界與其他領域之外聘講師，以實務為基礎提供多樣性的觀點。分組專題研究將包含：價值溪流(value stream)--從概念發展直到產品交付，以及後勤支援--的企業層級的評估，並且以轉化成精實企業體必需的行動的書面報告和課堂簡報作為結束。
(譯註：依照《精實革命》一書中的定義，價值溪流指的是從概念產生到新產品，直到客戶手上的一連串流程。)
Lectures by industry and other outside speakers lend a diversity of views, grounded in current practice. Team projects will involve Enterprise-level evaluation of value streams from concept development through product delivery and support, and will culminate in a report and presentation of actions required to transition to a "Lean" Enterprise.
課程描述
針對與精實企業體相關的重要議題，包括規劃，發展與實行。從人員，技術，流程與管理方面，對一家實際施行精實生產公司做全體性的架構考量。特別強調

Addresses some of the important issues involved with the planning, development, and implementation of lean enterprises. People, technology, process, and management dimensions of an effective lean manufacturing company are considered in a unified framework. Particular emphasis on the integration of these dimensions across the entire enterprise, including product development, production, and the extended supply chain. Analysis tools as well as future trends and directions are explored. A key component of this subject is a team project.
