實驗專題II是本學期第一次機會安排本系大學生實驗自己的設計。學生執行並操作他們的實驗系統（已在課程16.621)構思並設計），並報告結果。
Experimental Projects II is the first curricular opportunity that undergraduates in the department have to conduct an experiment of their own design. Students implement and operate their experimental system (already conceived and designed during 16.621), and report on their findings.

課程16.622的學生通過設計和執行“專題”實驗，獲得實用的見解，提高對工程實驗的理解。在課程16.621的基礎上，學生組裝並測試器材，對現象進行系統性實驗測量，分析資料，並把結果與理論性預期做比較。學生需要交付一份期末專題書面報告和正規口頭陳述。會提供口頭陳述和多階段報告的指引。實驗專題Ⅰ和Ⅱ是理論(課程16.621)與實踐(課程16.622) 的寶貴結合。
Students in 16.622 gain practical insight and improved understanding of engineering experimentation through design and execution of "project" experiments. Building upon work in 16.621, students construct and test equipment, make systematic experimental measurements of phenomena, analyze data, and compare theoretical predictions with results. Deliverables comprise a written final project report and formal oral presentations. Instructions on oral presentations and multi-section reporting are given. Experimental Projects I and II provide a valuable link between theory (16.621) and practice (16.622).
