This course contains labs, assignments, projects, and related resources dealing with aircraft and rocketry design concepts.
課程描述
本課程透過航空學、太空航行學和設計講座強調了航空太空飛行工程的基本概念和方法。積極地引導學生利用資訊技術自主學習航空宇宙部分。學生小組要自己動手努力完成一項比空氣輕（LTA）的飛行器設計專題，其內容包括︰設計、製作、試飛無線電操縱的LTA飛行器，透過實際項目使理論與實務結合。在LTA飛行器競飛前要進行必需的設計評估，評估LTA飛行器的性能、重量和理論特性，根據新生可理解的程度，闡明所應用的物理、數學與化學知識。本課程重在讓學生運用已學的航空太空飛行工程和設計的知識，而不是接觸新科學和數學。
The fundamental concepts, and approaches of aerospace engineering, are highlighted through lectures on aeronautics, astronautics, and design. Active learning aerospace modules make use of information technology. Student teams are immersed in a hands-on, lighter-than-air (LTA) vehicle design project, where they design, build, and fly radio-controlled LTA vehicles. The connections between theory and practice are realized in the design exercises. Required design reviews precede the LTA race competition. The performance, weight, and principle characteristics of the LTA vehicles are estimated and illustrated using physics, mathematics, and chemistry known to freshmen, the emphasis being on the application of this knowledge to aerospace engineering and design rather than on exposure to new science and mathematics.
