Last Thursday, I had a special farewell dinner out of the graduation series. The only two "old guys" are Rodman and me, while the rest are the young and promising. What brought us together is OOPS, a volunteer cause to translate English OpenCourseWare into Chinese and transcribe MIT lecture videos.

OOPS has been a very important and brilliant component in my entire senior year. Filestorm introduced me to this noble cause and I immediately felt the call from within.

"With greater power, comes greater responsibilities" was one of the slogans of OOPS. I loved it since spiderman and then and there arrived the opportunity to practice it on my own.

Over the past one year, hundreds of my hours were devoted to transcribing, proofreading, organizing and promotion of this volunteering service. It was truly delighting to find many old friends and make even more new friends who shared the same credo. Now around 100 lecture videos have been transcribed and there are about 100 OOPS SJTU volunteers who have contributed or are still contributing selflessly. For me, this is holly great and well beyond my wide initial expectations. To my greater joys, through our efforts, more students, inside or outside SJTU, get to know about MIT OCW and start using our works or the original English resources. Undoubtedly, this is important and beneficial for our Chinese university students.

Now comes the time to pass the torch down...

Thanks, Filestorm, for entrusting me. It was really fun for me to have OOPS this whole year. Thanks, Thor, for your very early partnership. Your effective networking ushered in a lot of dynamics. Thanks, Rodman, for your constant and heartful dedication. As I said, I am unable to imagine how I could have sustained without you.

Thanks, Fly, David and CS, you great Nanmo Rens. The completion of Physics 3 and DSP was amazing!
BTW, the sun glass really look the cool on me.
Thanks, Doris, You are always the essential catalyst and congregant of OOPS SJTU.
Thanks, Sinia, for your support and understanding.
Thanks, Deedee, Nick, Seven,
and all the OOPS SJTUers... You are the true heroes!
