1. 新课程上线了

麻省理工开放式课程欣喜地宣布有6门新的课程加入了2006年春季最新的课程发表。我们所提供的自由使用教材的课程总数已有1265门,包涵下列最新发表的部份:
当您在阅览麻省理工学院开放式课程所有课程列表时,看到红色的NEW就代表着新近发布的课程。在2006年4月底前,麻省理工学院开放式课程将再发表150门新课程与超过75门的课程更新。(编注:这指的是原文版,OOPS大约在两天前才刚拿到同步的许可,准备正式开始跟随着更新)




2. 电子报的使用者调查

感谢有超过2100位的订阅者完成最近对麻省理工开放式课程电子报的调查。
从37,532位收到调查邀请的电子报订阅者中,有2,129位在2006年1月26日以前完成调查。未来电子报将会提供订阅者一份对调查结果的完整报告,现在,有一些较高层次的发现:
  • 54%的订阅者自认为自学者,17%为学生,14%为教育者,4%为麻省理工学院的校友,及11%为其他。
  • 46%的订阅者来自美加地区,并超过100其他国家。
  • 56%的使用者发现电子报中的最有用的内容是新课程的连结。
  • 绝大多数的使用者同意或强烈地同意电子报的的设计相当清楚与易于使用,也让他们在使用麻省理工开放式课程的内容时更有效率。
  • 43%的订阅者至少一次将电子报转寄给朋友。

在麻省理工开放式课程完成调查资料完整分析后,将会提供给电子报的订阅者,并会根据使用者的建议来改善电子报以使其更为有益。

7. 中国国家精品课程

8. 日本的开放式课程联盟

六所日本顶尖的大学 – 庆应义塾大学、京都大学、大阪大学、东京理工学院、东京大学与早稻田大学 – 宣布组成日本开放式课程合作团队
这六所大学现已提供近百门英文日文版课程免费使用。




9. 傅尔布莱特学院经济学教学计划的开放式课程计划

受到了麻省理工开放式课程创举的启示,越南的傅尔布莱特学院的经济教学计划(Fulbright School Economics Teaching Program, FETP)在2003年发起了傅尔布莱特学院经济教学计划的开放式课程计划,这个计划是自2002年9月麻省理工学院开始其计划的第一个开放式课程计划。傅尔布莱特学院与其他越南的教育机构共同参与一个宣传使用新颖的远距教学的活动。

The December 2005 MIT OpenCourseWare Update Contains:


1. New Courses Now Available
----------------------------------------------------------------
MIT OpenCourseWare (MIT OCW) is pleased to announce the publication of six new courses as part of our Spring 2006 course publication cycle. We now offer open access to the educational materials from 1265 courses total, including the following new courses:


When looking at the complete MIT OCW Course List, look for the red NEW to indicate newly published materials. MIT OCW will publish 150 new, and 75 more updated courses, by the end of April 2006.




2. Email Newsletter User Survey
----------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you to the more than 2100 subscribers who completed our recent survey about the "MIT OpenCourseWare Update" email newsletter.

Of the 37,532 email newsletter subscribers who received the survey invitation, 2129 had completed it as of January 26, 2006. In a future issue of this email newsletter, we will provide subscribers with a complete report of the survey results, but thus far, here are several high-level findings:

  • 54% of email subscribers identify themselves as self-learners, 17% as students, 14% as educators, 4% as MIT alumni, and 11% as "other."
  • 46% of subscribers are from the United States or Canada, with more than 100 other countries represented.
  • 56% of users find links new courses to be the most useful content in the newsletter.
  • The overwhelming majority of users either agrees or strongly agrees that the design of the newsletter is clear and easy to use; and that the newsletter helps them access MIT OCW content more effectively.
  • 43% of subscribers have forwarded it to a friend at least once.

Once the MIT OCW team completes a full analysis of all the survey data, we will provide a report back to email newsletter subscribers and implement several subscriber-suggested changes to the newsletter to make it more useful.

Again, thanks to all who completed the survey! Your participation will be tremendously valuable as we evolve this newsletter to better suit the needs of our global network of subscribers.

ParisTech is a collective entity that includes 11 of the most prestigious engineering schools in France. Each of its member institutions is known as the best in France in its particular field. The research and teaching at the 11 institutions is complementary and cover virtually all sectors of the various engineering sciences. 4. Johns Hopkins School of Public Health OCW

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) in Baltimore, MD, is world-renowned as a leading international authority on public health. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's OpenCourseWare project provides access to the school's most popular courses.


5. Tufts University OCW
----------------------------------------------------------------
Tufts University, with campuses in Boston, Medford, Somerville and Grafton, MA, has a global reputation for academic and research excellence, and innovation. The Tufts OpenCourseWare project demonstrate Tufts' strength in the life sciences, as well a multi-disciplinary approach, an international perspective, and an underlying ethic of service to the university's local, national, and international communities.


6. Utah State University OCW

Utah State University (USU) is one of the nation's premier land-grant and space-grant universities. USU OpenCourseWare supports USU's institutional mission to serve the public through learning, discovery, and engagement.


7. China Quality OCW (CNQOCW)
----------------------------------------------------------------
China Open Resources for Education (CORE), MIT OCW's Chinese language translation partner, now offers links to more than 450 China Quality OpenCourseWare (CNQOCW) courses for use and sharing in China and globally. In addition, CORE has translated 80 MIT OCW courses into Simplified Chinese, which are available at http://www.core.org.cn/OCW_CN/Global/all-courses.htm


8. Japan OCW Alliance
----------------------------------------------------------------
The top six universities in Japan -- Keio University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, the University of Tokyo, and Waseda University -- have announced the formation of the Japan OCW Alliance. These six universities now offer open access to more than 100 courses, in both English and Japanese.


9. FETP OCW in Vietnam
----------------------------------------------------------------
Inspired by the MIT OCW initiative, the Fulbright School Economics Teaching Program (FETP) in Vietnam launched FETP OpenCourseWare in 2003, the first "opencourseware" project to launch after MIT OCW opened in September 2002. The Fulbright School participates with other academic institutions in Vietnam to promote the use of innovative long-distance learning activities.
