This course features a full set of lecture notes and problem sets, in addition to quizzes and other materials used by students in the course. The materials are largely based on the textbook, Introduction to Probability, written by Professors John Tsitsiklis and Dimitri Bertsekas (see http://www.athenasc.com/probbook.html for more information).

这门课同时开授给大学部 (6.041) 及研究所 (6.431)，但指定作业不同。6.041/6.431介绍给学生模式化、量化和不确定性的分析。包括主题计有: 样品空间内建立模型和解析、随机变量、转换技术、简单的随机过程及其机率分布、马可夫程序、极限定理和统计干扰因素。
This course is offered both to undergraduates (6.041) and graduates (6.431), but the assignments differ. 6.041/6.431 introduces students to the modeling, quantification, and analysis of uncertainty. Topics covered include: formulation and solution in sample space, random variables, transform techniques, simple random processes and their probability distributions, Markov processes, limit theorems, and elements of statistical inference.
